Adoption of an animal means responsibility for the care of the animal and meeting of the conditions set forth by the city ordinance and public health laws.
Fees
| Pet adoption: |
$70 to $100, depending on the animal |
| Impound: |

| Daily maintenance: |
$6 per day or part thereof |
| Rabies vaccination: |
$10, if owner is unable to prove documentation of a current rabies vaccination |
| Microchip: |
$10, if reclaimed animal is not currently microchipped |
Owner Responsibilities:
If you fail to have the adopted animal vaccinated for rabies within 5 days and spayed or neutered within 30 days, the City of Irving will file cases in municipal court based on Chapter 6 of the Irving Code of Civil and Criminal Offenses.
The spay and neutering of puppies and kittens shall occur at 6 months of age.
